Vessel Attacked By Houthis Sinks In Red Sea

A bulk carrier ship has now sunk in the Red Sea, days after being attacked by a Houthi Uncrewed Surface Vessel earlier this month, which is effectively a bomb-carrying drone boat.

Tragically, one crew member from the Philippines was reported missing immediately following the attack and is now presumed dead, according to a US national security spokesperson.

The MV Tutor, which is Greek owned, was travelling from Russia to Egypt before being targeted by the Houthi Rebel device, just south-west of the port of Hudaydah in Yemen.

After the ship was hit on its stern it started to slowly take on water, which led to flooding and severe damage to its engine room.

This is now the second cargo ship that has been sunk by Houthis since the commercial shipping attacks in the Red Sea started. The other vessel to sink was the UK owned Rubymar in March.

With Houthi Rebels re-establishing their attacks, the chance of major carriers returning back to the Red Sea route seems as far away as ever.
